Whole Spring Trail:  Wild Stories, Pack Horses and Wild Food

The cost includes 2-3 superb trail leaders on trail with you at all times, all food, use of tents, airport transfers (from Bíldudalur/Ísafjörður airports) and all activities. The cost does not include travel insurance.

Participants should arrive in Bíldudalur by 12 midday on May 10th. Accommodation is provided for the night of the 10th and walking begins on the 11th. At the end of the trail, we will transfer you to Ísafjörður on May 25th, so onward travel plans can be made for May 26th. 

South Section: Wild Stories

The cost includes 2-3 superb trail leaders on trail with you at all times, all food, use of tents, airport transfers (from and to Bíldudalur airport) and all activities. The cost does not include travel insurance.

Participants should arrive in Bíldudalur by 12.00 on May 10th. Accommodation is provided on 10th and walking begins the following day. At the end of South Section, we will transfer you to Bíldudalur by 12.00 on May 17th.

North Section: Wild Food & Pack Horses

Participants should arrive in Bíldudalur by 12.00 on May 17th. At the end of the North Section, guests will be transferred to Ísafjörður on May 25th. We provide airport transfers on the morning of May 26th.

Travel

To reach the Westfjords, you should first arrive in Iceland at Reykjavik airport or Seyðisfjörður harbour. From there, make your way to Bíldudalur for both South and North Sections. 

Flights to Reykjavik are operated by WowAir, IcelandAir or Norwegian. Check Skyscanner for the best deals. Smyril Line operate ferries from Denmark to Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. 

Once in Reykjavik or Seyðisfjörður, you should make your way to the Westfjords using any of the following:

Plane

The quickest way to get to the Westfjords is by air. The flight from Reykjavík takes 40-50 minutes, depending on the destination.

Car

Reykjavík to Ísafjörður, 455 km, paved road:

Reykjavík - Hvalfjörður (tunnel) - Borgarnes - Brattabrekka (road 60) - Svínadalur - Arnkötludalur (road 61) - Steingrímsfjarðarheiði - Ísafjarðardjúp - Ísafjörður

Car and Boat

The car ferry Baldur operates between Stykkishólmur and Brjánslækur. From June to August there are daily departures from Stykkishólmur.
